Marion
Deoferio.

I already knew what a real reset could do—the shift in energy, the change in mindset, the release of stress people don’t even realize they’re carrying. I couldn’t understand why we weren’t making space for that at work. That’s why I built RegulationLab.

I knew what it felt like to perform under pressure.

I spent years working in performance-driven corporate environments where results mattered, pressure was constant, and you were expected to keep performing regardless of what was happening internally.

Over the years, I developed my own ways of resetting — meditation, intentional creative work, reflection, visualization and other practices that helped me quiet the noise, regulate and return to whatever was in front of me with a clearer head.

I wasn't thinking about building a company. I was doing what helped me function well under pressure.

Then I put it through a much bigger test.

During one of the most stressful periods of my professional life, I represented myself in a year-long legal case against my former employer, facing experienced opposing counsel.

I used the same reset practices I had developed over the years to manage the pressure, stay focused, prepare and keep going.

I won the case.

How we perform is deeply affected by the state we're performing from.

You can have the experience. You can know what to do. You can prepare. But if you can't access your clearest thinking when the pressure is on, all of that becomes harder to use.

I wanted to understand the science behind what I was experiencing.

By then, resetting wasn't a theory to me. I knew what these practices did for me. But I became deeply curious about why they worked.

I wanted to understand what was happening beneath the experience — how stress affects attention, how our state influences the way we think and respond, and why deliberately stepping out of constant input could make such a noticeable difference.

That curiosity led me to study neuroscience and become a Certified Neuroscience Coach. The science gave me language and structure for something I had already been practicing for years.

Then one question kept coming back to me.

I had spent enough years in corporate environments to see the disconnect. Companies invest heavily in their people — training, benefits, wellness programs, apps and incentives — but the workday itself can remain relentless.

People move from meeting to meeting, deadline to deadline, screen to screen, and somehow they're expected to find their own way back to clear, focused and regulated. Usually after work.

If resetting helps people perform, why isn't the reset part of the workday?

That became RegulationLab.

I wanted to create the kind of reset I would have valued during my own corporate career.

Not another app. Not another thing to remember. And not something employees have to squeeze into their personal time.

A genuine interruption from the pace of work — at work.

Today, RegulationLab brings 90-minute mini retreats into the workday for teams operating under sustained pressure. We come onsite and create the space for people to step out of constant input, regulate, reset together and return to work clear, connected and focused.

People shouldn't have to leave the workday to get the reset they need to perform well within it.
